Going Green!

I am slowly moving to go green! Okay, so I am far from it but I have done a few things to be more environmentally friendly. My mom and I have been doing some work with a group called WVE. If you get a chance, you should check out the website http://www.womenandenvironment.org/. The things that are in products we use everyday are not necessarily safe and not disclosed. Unforturnately, we are not aware and using these products anyways. One of the products that has many things that are dangerous are in our cleaning products. My mom had convinced me with all the cleaning I do, to make my own. I have been making an effort to use more homemade cleaners, but as it takes extra time and effort I am not always good about doing it. Recently Clorox came out with a cleaning line that is "GREEN". So of course I had to try it out. I love it! It smells so good and you do not need as much cleaner as you usually use. I am a fan. Maybe I will have to make more homemade cleaners using some essencial oils as recommended by the Women's Voices for the Earth (WVE). Another thing I have been doing is to take my own bags to the grocery store. I get a lot of strange looks at Walmart at the thought of bagging my own groceries but hopefully soon it will hit Walmart as well. I was so surprised at how "green" friendly the West coast is and that good old Vicksburg is far behind in that regard.

Why were you surprised that Vicksburg was behind the times in anything? Good for you, by the way. I have seen those products at the store and thought about buying them. Maybe I will look into more!
