Jacob is 16 months old

Man our time in Utah is flying. I cannot believe another month has gone by and Jacob is another month older. He is almost one and a half and I cannot believe how much my baby is changing, especially since my baby is not looking so much like a baby!

Jacob is still a little one. He still weighs 20lbs. He tries to say a lot more these days. Anything he wants he says nene for. (Fruit snacks, pretzels, bananas and even I get that name!) He still loves to say ada (especially when we are calling Adan's name. He says dada and he has his love happy noise for kitties, dogs, basically any animals and now it included babies. He loves babies and gets the biggest smile on his face when there is someone closer to his size around. He likes to dance we have discovered. He is now starting to run. AAAHH! Watch out he is determined to get what he wants. Mostly he just has a strong personality that comes out when he isn't getting his way. We love that little boy to pieces. He is so lovable and cuddly. He loves his blankie and can be found cuddling with it most of the day. Words can not express the joy that Jacob brings into our lives. (With that of course comes frustration because he also cries alot when he does not get his way.) He is also very mommy attached. He is very use to me and I have only left him with Aaron since we moved pretty much. My mom has watched him a couple of times while he sleeps, my little sister has babysat a little and my sister Andrea watched him for our anniversary weekend get away. Other than that he is with Aaron or me. I think nursery is going ot be a shock for him. However in February I am going to try and get a YW to babysit every week so I can get some errands run in the day and not have to rely on Aaron so much and he can get more dissertation work done. I don't really go anywhere during the day due to Jacob's two nap schedule. We will see how this all works out for Jacob but in the end I think this will help his transition to nursery. I almost forgot to mention that Jacob's two teeth have broken through. All we have let is thos two year molars. Which is a good thing because Jacob hasn't been sleeping to great these last few nights and anytime I walk away he scream. He is not feeling great.

Adan's discovery

We just received our pile of books that we order each month from scholastic. We typically read all the books we've purchased for the month all at once. We traditionally have some character books (Diego, Scooby etc) in the batch. I of course have to add books that have a little more substance to the collection. Hence the reason we have a stack of books each month. Mateo typically orders a Scooby pack each month. So we sat down to read the three Scooby books in the pack. After two of the Scooby books had been read, Adan looks at me and says, " that is fake." I reply by saying, "what is fake?" "The Scooby books are all fake. Mom, why are the Scooby books fake?" What am I suppose to say to my five year old who has been obsessed with Scooby for a year now? We own several seasons of the cartoons, and at least 20+ books. So my response to it is, "Scooby and Shaggy have good imaginations. His response. Why is Scooby fake? Now he is just disappointed to have had this discovery. Who knows if he will be as obsessed with it. Mateo's response to this all. Scooby is fake! I am surprised Mateo stated the facts and didn't ask questions.

We are ready to tumble

Last week Andan and Mateo started tumbling. It has been so good for them since we haven't been getting as much exercise as I would like with the cold weather. The air quality has also been bad and their school has been keeping them in. The end result, they are enjoying tumbling and enjoying having some time alone. They are in different classes at different times. Lots of running around for me and lots of fun to spend sometime alone with mom to and from class. The added bonus, they get to stay up past thier normal bedtime one night a week.

Projects and Resolutions

Like I mentioned last week I have been projecting and making and doing some of my resolutions. I thought I would document them by showing off some of the projecting I have been doing. I have really been enjoying decorating our apartment. It has made it feel more homey especially since all the snow we have been receiving has kept us indoors more.

The biggest resloutions I have committed to doing is to learn how to play the piano, run a 5K and make homemade decorations. (I have a couple I am working on and will share hopefully this week!

Jacob at 15 and a half months

So with all the Christmas traveling and festivities I failed to post a picture of Jacob at 15 months. SO a couple of weeks late this is what our little one is up to. He has gotten proficient in shaking his head for no. He loves fruit snacks so whenever he sees the package even if it is in the garbage he will grab it and bring it to you. He is still a very happy and smiley baby. He enjoys watching his brothers play and laughs often. He also loves cats. So when we visit my mom's he loves to be with Tommy. Poor Tommy isn't use to kids so he spends more time outside then usual. Do you blame him? Jacob enjoyed Christmas and can now be found pushing his shopping cart or playing with Little People. He is also perfectly content sitting on the couch and looking at books or observing his brothers. He has also found out if he climbs on things he can get to more things. He recently was found pulling himself up on the bathroom counter to get to the tooth brushes and toothpaste. He loves having clean teeth and he will use whatever tooth brush he can find, even if it is not his. I took him in for a check up right before we left for our Christmas vacation and he only weighs 20 pounds and is 30 inches long. He is a little thing but he has a fierce whine and can be as loud as his brothers.

Christmas vacation

For the first time I can actually say we had a long great family Christmas vacation. I told Aaron since Adan and Mateo now get Christmas vacation he has to take some time off so we can travel, relax and get projects done during the holidays. I am so glad we had the opportunity to be in Orem (so we could go on our Anniversary get away)and spend time with family and friends, drive to Idaho (and spend Christmas there, even though we had to drive extra), stop in Logan to unload the car aaaaaaaa(seriously we were way overpacked and Adan had to sit in the cave)and then go back to Orem for a New Year's celebration with the Davis family and the Beckham family and Uncle Evan. We had an enjoyable vacation and we really enjoyed our time at home in Logan before our travels and after our travels. We have been busy and I thought i would share some pictures of our vacation! I will be posting what I have been up to in terms of decorating the house (that was my Christmas presents!) and some new things I am trying out!

Annivesary get away

We went to Salt Lake as a belated anniversary present on December 19-20th. My sister watched the kids most of Friday and all day Saturday. We enjoyed eating at the Mayan, seeing 7 pounds, and shopping on Friday evening. On Saturday amazingly enough we woke up early and started our day (guess that is what happens even when the kids aren't around). We headed to the Gateway (neither one of us had ever been). I made an appointment at the salon for a manicure and pedicure. We walked around, ate delicious sushi, met up with Aaron's sister. We had a yummy chocolate covered apple at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, enjoyed shopping at Rod Works for some home decorations, watched another movie and ate at the Pizza Factory. We really enjoyed our time together, it was a very relaxing weekend!
