Jacob is sick again!
2 weeks ago I took Jacob to the doctor because I was afraid he might have an ear infection. Sure enough he did. Then yesterday we went for our 6 month check up. On Thursday, Jacob started pulling his ears and screaming everytime he had to be layed down. Since Mateo was going on the potty all day, this was quite of few times. To say the least we had an interesting day. Anyways, on Friday the doctor looked at his ears and the infection still hadn't cleared up. We are on our second round of antibiotics. For most of you I am sure it is not a surprise because this is common in the Byrd household. Hopefully we can get him better soon! Jacob weighs 16lbs 13oz and is 26 1/2 in he is average for both weight and height.
Mateo is having success
Mateo is currently having sucess on the potty. I hope he can keep it up. I would really like to stop buying two different packages of diapers each month. He started this week telling us he has to go potty. I am so excited and hope he can keep it up. He stayed dry all yesterday. He woke up a little wet this morning but I am just hoping we can have another dry day. It will make me more apt to start on underwear soon. Potty time is so interesting for a mom. I never look forward to this stage but I love the rewards from the other side. Hopefully we will be there before we leave to Utah!

WOW Jacob is 6 months
I cannot believe my baby is already six months. We are so happy to have him. He smiles at anyone who talks to him. People all around us constantly comment on his happiness. He is happy but like all children he has his moments. I am excited that for the most part he sleeps through the night, he rolls around to be mobile, and seems ready to start eating some solid foods. He currently weighs 17 pounds and has just moved out of his baby carrier to a rear facing carseat. He loves to babble and his brothers especially love it! I think Jacob appreciates the attention more. Adan and Mateo love their brother and Aaron and I love to cuddle up to him.

Happy Easter!
We had a good Easter Sunday and hope that everyone enjoyed their day as well. We finally took a family picture today. Jacob is almost six months and were barely able to coordinate a picture this morning before church. We enjoyed relaxing and being together as a family. We are looking forward to our Easter egg hunt for family home evening. We painted Easter eggs this evening with the kids. The Easter bunny was very generous to Aaron and me. I received an ipod nano and Aaron got a ipod shuffle. We are excited for our new gadgets. It is going to make Aaron's home projects very enjoyable and the plane ride out to Utah more manageable. The boys just got simple baskets. The Easter bunny knows we are moving and that we do not need to pack up more stuff to take with us. The boys enjoyed the few gifts they received and I am not sure that they noticed that it was simple. The favorite part was the quarter they received in one of the eggs and all the candy!

The tile is down
Happy St.Patrick's Day
We had a great St.Patrick's day. I purchased three matching t-shirts at Target not too long ago for the boys to wear shirts for St.Patrick's day. So this morning we took some pictures of the three boys. Before I could even get a bib on Jacob he spit up. Oh well. The story of my life. Adan went to school and had a fun time. He was excited to go back after having Spring Break. Today they had a fireman come and visit the school and there was a fire truck there as well. Mateo, Jacob and I stayed home. I cleaned the house and felt very acomplished for a Monday morning. We went for a walk with our walking buddies. After that, we came in from playing outside and I made some lunch and a special treat but I they did not turn out correctly. We took Aaron back to work after lunch and headed to a friends house for a quick visit. (Originally I had planned on taking them some of the cookies I was making but since that failed I did not have a back up. They enjoyed our visit anyways.) We went to Walmart for some groceries and the boys found some shoes. I had been planning on buying them crocs because there is a shoe monster at our house. I was glad to find out that the boys were satisfied with Walmart shoes and we bought those instead since Mateo doesn't have shoes most days because our shoes keep disappearing. Well we had a sucessful trip even though I had all three boys. I made some fish tonight that turned out pretty good considering it was my first time making fish. We spent time this evening reading books. A favorite past time of ours. Tonight I worked on a translation project I have to do by the 1st of April and Aaron is making great progress on the bathroom floor. We are almost done laying the tile in the bathroom! Yes. I am so excited. I am staying up and helping Aaron cut the tile so it goes faster. I have a feeling we are going to be up late since we only have a little more than half the floor done. That is okay though, because we are making progress.

Have we lost our minds?
Well this week has been a very busy but rewarding week. Saturday Aaron and I decided that something must be done with our carpet. With our bathroom coming along (thanks to the Wallace's help on Thursday!) and with the project with the end in sight. We decide that if we are going to sell our house we have to do something about our carpet. I went to Capret One and started pricing out carpet. Unfortunately I wasn't too excited at the thought of spending lots of money to recarpet the whole house. Instead I got resourceful and decided that if we could just replace the hall and front room carpet we could get by. So I went to Home Depot with a plan of action. Find some laminate or wood floor. Of course I was on a budget. The results? Flooring that is so inexpensive, we are going to do the bedrooms as well. We spent the same amount of money for the flooring that we planned on spending for the hall and front room! I found some great prices. Not only that we were able to spend half the amount of money we would have spent on carpet! Yeah. I am so excited about this however I know it is going to be a lot of hardwork to lay this floor. Luckily Aaron volunteered for this project unlike most of the projects that are started in our home. So again have we lost our minds? I hope not. This will give us a great chance to start decluttering the house and packing it up for our big move. I am hopeful that maybe we can just keep the house and find someone to rent our home. It will be bitter sweet if we sell our home now, however with all the work we have done I know the payoff will be great.

Caps for Sale!
Caps, Caps for sale. 50 cents a cap. Well for anyone who has read this picture book, my boys love to read this book. I think I have read it every day this week at least twice a day. Adan thought it would be fun to pretend he wsa selling caps and put several on his head. For those of you who haven't read the book read it!

Jacob trying some rice cereal
Since Jacob is almost six months I decided I should probably start him on some rice cereal. I think feeding babies is one of my least favorite things. Since we are seeing the peditrician in a a couple of weeks I gave it a whirl. He did okay but we are discovering that Jacob seems to have some digestion problems. I do not think he would be a Byrd without tummy problems. I was excited when I had started feeding him the cereal because he stopped spitting up. Well since we are having digestion problems I have decided to stop and am going to wait until we talk to the doctor. I guess I am off the hook until then.
Out with the old
Our very old garage door was finally retired this past week. All winter long our garage door had been acting kind of funny. If the day was too cold it wouldn't open. Finally one warm Spring like day it finally died. It was a little ironic that it happened on a warm day. Oh well. I was kind of tired of our old fashioned swing out garage door. We love our new door that works so nicely. Mateo really enjoyed watching them take down our door. He suggested that I take some pictures. I was happy to record this moment!

Jacob

I don't have a lot of pictures of myself and normally wouldn't post a picture of me and Jacob, but I could not resist. This picture is so cute of Jacob and I do not think I have had a picture taken of me and Jacob since the hospital 5 months ago. A great friend took this picture of us over the weekend and emailed it to me today. Jacob is too cute! (Of course that is the opinion of a biased mother.)
