Baton Rouge Temple

We were able to go to the temple this weekend. Laine Anderson is going on a mission and received his endowments this past Saturday. It was so mice to be there with the Anderson's and Wallace's. We had a lot of fun at the hotel Friday night. We went to the Olive Garden and were able to celebrate Evan's 18th birthday. Then we went swimming. We went to the temple Saturday morning. We lucked out and there wasn't any rain. (It seems like everytime we go to the temple we end up with a big rain storm.) We went to the session. It was neat being apart of that sacred ordinance for Laine. We are looking forward to Laine going on his mission. He leaves next Monday for Utah. He will be serving a Spanish speaking mission in California. We look forward to writing him. Since this is the first missionary to leave from our ward since we have lived here for over 4 years.

4 months, WOW!!

Jacob is four months today. WOW!! Time flys. I am so surprised at how big Jacob has gotten over the past couple of weeks. He is four months today and weighs 15lbs. 10 oz. He is 26 inches. I was looking at Mateo's numbers at four months and he was the same length but weighed exactly one pound more. Jacob is in between Adan and Mateo weight wise. We are enjoying Jacob's happy, smiling personality so much! We are so thankful for him and the joy that he adds to our family. He definately fits in and we are constantly reminded about how he looks like his brothers.

REAL SNOW in Idaho

If I am going to include the Mississippi snow, I thought I should include a picture of the snow we experienced on my trip to Idaho. There was so much snow that they canceled school.(They haven't canceled school since I was in sixth grade. That hasn't happened since I was in the sixth grade. Since I am so old, it's been a long time!!!) Enjoy the snow either through pictures or through experience.

It really snows in MISSISSIPPPI!!

So maybe it is not much to shout about, but it is SNOW. FOr those of us who are from the WEST COAST and use to snow, we are excited to see the snow, although it is already melting, we are hoping for more snow today.

Byrd Boys

I am getting you to the idea of the many people in Vicksburg who refer to our boys as the "Byrd boys". Seeming since we have all boys it is sounding more natural for me to refer to the boys as this. I wanted to share some pictures of the boys.

Jacob can roll over!

Jacob rolled over for the first time while we were in Idaho. However, he was unable to do it again while we were there. Once we came home though he rolled over again. Now ever time you lay him on his back he will roll over within a few seconds and then fuss because he doesn't want to be on his tummy. A few times I have actually left him and he has put himself to sleep. Pretty good for a baby who loves to be held and rocked.

14 Days into 2008

WOW! So much has happened and it is only 14 days into the New Year. I have so much to do, I am behind on my New Year's goals but oh well. Someday I will feel a little more caught up. As some of you might already know. Jacob and I spent the first 12 days of the New Year in Idaho. New Year's Day we received a phone call that my grandfather (my mom's dad) was in the Emergency Room. After much discussion and consideration. Aaron and I decided that Jacob and I would go to Idaho to be with family. It was very hard to leave behind my family for so many days but the outcome couldn't have been better. After only being there for a couple of days, my grandfather was released from the hospital. Although he still has several follow-up appointments with Doctor's things are looking a lot better than when the news arrived New Year's Eve. I am so grateful for the many people who worked hard to make this trip possible. Aaron, friends in Vicksburg, my family and many others prayers on my granfather's and my familiy's behalf. We appreciate it so much. Especially since in a previous blog post, I had mentioned that we are currently remodeling a bathroom. It was a big challenge and stress for Aaron to have to take care of Adan and Mateo, work and remodel. Aaron has done a great job and made a lot of progress. I am so glad he is so resourceful. I am going to include some pictures of my time in Idaho and also include a picture of the bathtub that took a few minor miracles to get installed!! (Thanks to Rob, I was able to come home to visable progress, since Aaron mostly worked on the plumbing the week and a half that I was gone. Installing the bathtub made it so that I could see all the hard work.)
