Fun in Orem and a great weekend in Logan

We had a lot of fun this past week. We were able to go to Orem on Wednesday and spend some time with the Davis family. We were able to walk Malia to school and walk to pick her up everyday that we were there. The kids really enjoyed doing this and it was a nice outing each day for us as well. On Friday we drove the Davis family back with us to Logan. We had a long ride back but we enjoyed it because when we arrived Aaron had already set up the tent. The boys enjoyed sleeping in the tent. Malia was prepared to sleep in the tent but with the Logan canyon winds, ended up sleeping inside with the girls and Jacob.

On Saturday we enjoyed a relaxing day. Aaron had some school work and lots of printing of journal articles. (His professor wants in a month for him to have an idea of the direction he will go on for his dissertation.) So my sister and I spent the day playing with the kids. Actually my sister was great with the kids and played four square with them for quite awhile, while I talked on the phone. I was catching up on Mississippi news. Anyways, I think the kids enjoyed themselves.

Sunday was another good day after getting ready in about 15 minutes for church. Aaron and I overslept and my sister thought church was later than it really was. We went to church and have decided to stick with the family ward. It will be good for us and hopefully we can meet some people and make some friends. If not we have friends close by and our families. We had Evan over for Sunday dinner. My sister helped me make Lasagna. The meal turned out delicious and we were able to hear all about Evan's first week of school. We also got to see some rain and even for us Mississippians who see it all the time it was quite a storm. We also got to talk all about Gustav the hurricane and reminisce about Katrina and all that came with that hurricane. We were very glad that the storm just brought a lot of rain toward Mississippi.
Monday was great to have yet another day to relax. For me it was a day filled with cooking. I finally learned how to make omelette's so I made them for everyone. Then we decided since it was rainy, gloomy and cold to make some cookies and have some fresh fruit for an afternoon snack. The cookies were delicious. While I was preparing dinner Aaron took the kids out since it had finally cleared up and talk them how to swing a golf club and hit some balls. The kids really had a lot of fun learning how to do this. I made some delicious coconut chicken. I had fun being the chef for the day. I hope my sister's family enjoyed their weekend as much as I did. We are looking forward to them coming abck on Sunday!
