The birthday boy Mateo

Mateo is 3. Yesterday we enjoyed celebrating this special boy's birthday. With Mateo's birthday I am reminded of the events that happened after Mateo's birth. Hurricane Katrina. I know I was so grateful to have my family there as I recovered as we faced some inconviences. So this year as we celebrated Mateo's birthday most of those family memebers were able to celebrate his birthday and we were reminded of the events three years ago.
We were able to enjoy lots of family this weekend. We went to Orem this weekend to be able to see family and celebrate Mateo's birthday. On Saturday Aaron took Mateo, Adan, Cristian (our cousin) and Tia Risa (Marisa, my little sister, the boy's aunt) fishing to Vivian park. Unfortunatley no fish were brought home but fish were pulling on the lines. However, Adan and Mateo were too busy playing to reel in the fish. I was able to enjoy shopping with my neice and nephew, Jacob and my mom and aunt. My sister was sick so she had to miss out on the fun. On Sunday we went to church. When we came home we cooked some hamburgers on our "grill". (Aaron the engineer made a grill for us to be able to enjoy delicious hamburgers.) Later on we went to Aaron's sisters Bonnie's house to enjoy some cake and ice cream. We were happy to have an aunt, uncles, a grandma and cousins present. Mateo loved his superman cake his Tia Andrea decorated so beautifully.


Yesterday we had breakfast at Resturant Davis. Aaron and I cooked up a delicious menu. Aaron made his wonderful omletes and I cooked up some pancakes. We then packed up and headed off to Logan. We were joined by the Mabbutt's (my mom and little sister), the Davis family (Andrea, Malia and Andru)and the Munson's (my aunt and cousin Cristian). We had a great drive. I had found a park that has a satream for the kids to play in. Thinking like a Mississipian that August is usually hot that this would be a great activity and way to celebrate Mateo's birthday. SO we packed up some coolers full of food dor a picnic, swimming suits and all for a fun afternoon. Well we had an enjoyable lunch however here in Logan we are already experiencing cooler tempatures. So instead of enjoying the stream we enjoyed racing leaves down the stream and playing at the park.



We then headed toward our house when I came up with a good idea to stop and eat some World Famous Aggie ice cream. I had already made a cake for Mateo and we had been on the road and gone to the park without time to make another cake. The solution: delicious ice cream that everyone could each select their own flavor and size. The result: a happy family.


We then came back to our house and opened presents! We loved all the presents and today have happy boys that are enjoying the new things they received (since Adan received many gifts as well.)
Also since we were so busy yesterday we didn't even get a chance to get our mail. We had a birthday all over again with a card from the Lance's and a new car and picture from Caleb. Thank you so much to everyone making such an enjoyable birthday for Mateo.
